Whoever thought that there is a little paradise hidden away in the heart of Green Point, Cape Town.
On arrival at the Antrim Villa, you’ve instantly swept away to a paradise of lush big palm green trees and a beautiful pool that will have you feeling like you are vacationing on the Victorian streets of Monaco.
A few days ago Jody and I Visited the Antrim Villa, a beautiful Guesthouse allocated on the foot of Signal Hill. A stone throw away from the beach and vibrant restaurants, great location for exploring many attractions.
The Guest House was built in the late 1800s, an old English Victorian house that was originally a family residence turned into a beautiful Guest House.
The inspiration for the design and interior of the Guesthouse is a tropical-African style in an earthy colour palette, accentuated with natural fabrics such as sisal, linen and bamboo. The large, new saltwater pool lies enticingly in a secluded, tropical garden.
Antrim Villa hosts beautiful Standard and Luxury rooms, each room comes with a heater & fan, hairdryer & European plug, gowns and a small electronic safe. The Luxury rooms are equipped with flat-screen TVs and mini fridges, The rooms are equipped with standard en-suite bathroom with amenities and interiors that embody simplicity in Scandinavian finishing and an added African touches for a twist.
One of my standout points of this beautiful Guesthouse will have to be its high ceilings across the rooms. It’s a feeling of space that allows you to instantly feel free and comfortable, another great touch of history has to be the original pine flooring through the Guest House.
I would have to say that Antrim Villa, would be the perfect tropical getaway in the heart of your own city if you just felt like escaping the day to day hustle and bustle. The beautiful poolside area allows a tranquil environment where you can just kick up your feet and relax with a book or glass of wine.
A beautiful breakfast is served every morning by the friendly staff with cold and hot options. I opted for omelettes on both mornings with some fresh fruit and yoghurt.
This Victorian styled location comes with the spoils of having lunch and dinner with an abundance of choice in Green Point and Sea Point main road, just a step away.
Another nice touch is the selection of snacks drinks and soft drinks that they have on offer. You help yourself and just sign it up to be charged to your room. It takes out the trouble of going to the store if you feel like snacking or simply enjoying a glass of wine or cold beer.We Truly had a beautiful stay at the Antrim Villa, and can honestly recommend it with a five-star rating. If you look at the reviews and ratings online most of them talk about the staff and management that are all lovely and super intensive when you need anything. I can highly agree as I felt extremely welcome and looked after during our stay.
